Route details
At 5:00 or 6:00 AM, your driver-guide will collect you from your hotel or residence at Lake Bunyonyi/Kabale.
Following an early breakfast, you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. There, you will participate in a briefing at the park headquarters before going on a hike into the rainforest in search of a troop of magnificent mountain gorillas.
Once you find them, you will have one hour to observe these incredible animals up close. Your rangers will instruct you on how to interact and behave around the gorillas, primarily by maintaining a distance of about 10 meters while enjoying their presence. Gorilla trekking typically lasts between 2 to 8 hours, depending on the movement and location of these gentle giants.
After your gorilla trekking adventure, you will return to Kabale or Lake Bunyonyi.
