Route details
At 2:00 AM, your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel in Kigali.
• Depart from Kigali and enjoy a picturesque 4–5 hour drive to Uganda, crossing either the Cyanika or Katuna border. Your destination will be either Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, depending on the permits available.
• Upon arrival, you will participate in a required pre-trek briefing led by a senior ranger. Following this, you will be assigned to a gorilla group and guided into the forest by skilled rangers and trackers.
• Gorilla Trekking – The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorilla family is located. Once the gorillas are found, you will have an incredible hour to observe them in their natural environment—a truly unforgettable experience.
• After the trek, return to the trailhead where your driver will be waiting for you. Begin your journey back to Kigali.
• Evening Arrival – You will reach Kigali in the evening, concluding your memorable one-day gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda.
