Some trails do not need crowds to feel important. Mon Tule, Jo Vale and Mon Klui lead you into the quieter side of Tak Province — a place of rice fields, forested ridges, golden grasslands, and dark skies where the mountains still feel untouched.
The trek begins at Ban Mae Jwang and climbs from gentle rice-field paths into shaded forest, small streams, narrow ridges and grassy slopes. By sunset, you reach Mon Tule summit at 1,350 metres, where golden light spreads across rolling hills. The next day, the route continues toward Jo Vale, a newly opened and rarely visited trekking area surrounded by pristine forest and wide skies. Here, the evening brings sunset over golden grasslands and exceptional stargazing in one of the darkest parts of the region.
This is a moderate but real off-grid trek, with tent camping, basic facilities, no showers or signal for most of the route, and 3–6 hours of hiking per day. Porters carry group gear, so you only need a light daypack with personal items and layers. Come for the misty sunrises, quiet ridges and star-filled camps — join this journey if you want Thailand’s mountains at their most peaceful and wild!
