Some peaks are quiet from a distance, but feel powerful once you stand on them. Le Kha Dao rises above the forests of Mae Moei National Park as both a mountain summit and a sacred place, with a golden chedi at the top and wide views over the valleys of Tak Province.
This short trek begins in Mae Moei National Park, then continues by 4WD to the trailhead. From there, the route climbs through forest paths, shaded sections, rocky ground, and steeper ridges toward Le Kha Dao Summit. The final ascent brings a stronger challenge, with narrow ridgelines, rope-assisted sections, and handholds for support. By late afternoon, you reach the top for 360° mountain views, time at the Golden Chedi, and sunset over the surrounding peaks.
The night is spent in simple tent camping at base camp, with warm Thai-style meals, basic facilities, cool mountain air, and stargazing under a quiet sky. Early risers can return toward the summit for sunrise, when mist often fills the valleys below. Come for the climb, the silence, and the golden light — join this trek for a short mountain journey with real meaning!
