What if the best view in Kanchanaburi had to be earned before breakfast? San Nok Wua, or Cow Ridge, is a short but rewarding trek in Khao Laem National Park, where forest trails climb toward ridgelines above Vajiralongkorn Dam and the western mountains.
The route begins with sunrise views from Pom Pi Viewpoint or Vajiralongkorn Dam before the trail starts through evergreen forest, gentle valleys, and steeper non-technical sections. Along the way, guides may point out wildlife signs in the forest, while openings in the trees reveal views toward the dam. By late afternoon, you reach the valley campsite, set up tents, and hike to San Nok Wua ridge for sunset photography. Dinner is served at camp, followed by stargazing if the sky is clear.
Before dawn, you hike to the highest point of San Nok Wua for sunrise. Mist may fill the valleys below, but even without it, the morning light across the mountain layers is unforgettable. This guided trek includes tent camping, meals, park support, and a manageable challenge for active beginners and intermediate hikers. Come for two days of forest, ridge views, and a classic Thai jungle trekking experience!
