What if your first mountain trek in Thailand ended with sunrise over a “sea of mountains”? Doi Luang Tak is made for that kind of memory: grassy plateaus, forest ridges, cliff-edge viewpoints, and a route that feels adventurous without needing technical climbing skills.
The trek starts at the base with breakfast, a short briefing, and gear preparation before a transfer to the trailhead. From there, the path crosses small streams, shaded forest, waterfalls, gentle slopes, and steeper sections near Stone Gate and Three-Leaf Pine Ridge. You’ll climb to viewpoints where the wind can be strong and the edges demand care, then continue through banana groves to the campsite. In the late afternoon, a short hike brings you to views of Monkey Head Hill, the wide Lon Luang Plateau, and the mountain layers beyond.
After a night in tents, the second day begins before sunrise with a hike back to Lon Luang Plateau. Golden light spreads over the meadows and distant ranges before breakfast, coffee with local honey, camp clean-up, and the descent. Come for a short mountain escape with just enough challenge to feel proud at the end — and enough beauty to make every climb worth it!
