The 8 Days Machame Route is one of the most popular and scenic ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Known as the “Whiskey Route,” this trail combines dramatic landscapes, challenging trekking, and excellent acclimatization opportunities.

The route begins on the southwestern side of Kilimanjaro at Machame Gate and ascends through lush rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and glacial summit zones before reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the highest point in Africa.

This 6-night mountain itinerary is physically demanding, especially during the summit push from Barafu Camp, but rewards climbers with unforgettable scenery and a strong sense of achievement.

Unlike the Marangu Route, this is a full camping experience, with high-quality mountain tents, mess tents, private toilet facilities, and professional mountain crews supporting the climb.
