The Lemosho Route is considered one of the finest ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, combining exceptional scenery, excellent acclimatization, and one of the highest summit success rates on the mountain. Starting on Kilimanjaro’s remote western slopes, the route offers a quieter beginning before joining the famous Southern Circuit near the Shira Plateau.

This extended eight-day itinerary allows trekkers to ascend gradually through a remarkable variety of landscapes, including lush rainforest, volcanic moorlands, alpine desert, and glacial summit terrain. The additional acclimatization time greatly improves comfort and increases the chances of reaching Uhuru Peak.

One of the route’s major highlights is the spectacular traverse beneath Kilimanjaro’s southern glaciers, including dramatic scenery around Lava Tower, Barranco Wall, Karanga Valley, and Barafu Camp.
