Discover the Rongai Route, the only trail that begins on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro, offering a quieter, less-traveled path to the summit. Though close to the Kenyan border, the entire trek is within Tanzania. This route promises a wild, untouched experience, with chances to spot elephants, buffalo, and antelope. Thanks to the drier climate on the northeastern slopes, you're more likely to enjoy clear skies and stunning views. While the trail is flatter and gentler, it offers fewer chances to "climb high, sleep low," so the 7- or 8-day options are best for acclimatization. The summit push from Kibo Hut is thrilling, taking you past Gilman’s Point to Uhuru Peak, with a descent via the scenic Marangu trail.
