Jungle Journeys Holiday: From Gorillas to Golden Monkeys

Following an early morning breakfast, you'll go on a full-day game drive, allowing you to experience wildlife up close in Akagera National Park.

You'll exit the park at the Northern Nyungwe gate and continue your journey to Volcanoes National Park via Byumba. As you drive north through the park, you'll encounter various landscapes, with highlights including the Crocodile Swimming Pool and the Kilala Valley, known for its high concentration of wildlife near the Nyungwe exit gate.

You'll spend the night at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or a similar accommodation.

Breakfast in the early morning will be succeeded by a transfer to the Kinigi park headquarters for a trekking briefing. Following that, you'll go on a hike into the rainforest to encounter a group of stunning mountain gorillas. Each troop is monitored by a 24-hour guard, ensuring their whereabouts are known. Typically, you'll spend about an hour with them, allowing for close observation.

After this enriching experience, you will return to the hotel for the night, staying at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or a similar accommodation.

Following an early morning breakfast, you'll be transferred to the park headquarters at Kinigi for a golden monkey tracking adventure. These stunning and endangered primates are more agile than mountain gorillas and inhabit bamboo thickets on the lower slopes of the mountains. Tracking them helps you adjust to the slight altitude while providing your final glimpses of the park's surroundings.

You'll also visit the Gorilla Museum at The Ellen Degeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund before being transferred back to Kigali, concluding your trip. End.
