Route details

Day 1
Cultural Coast Walk & Lake Curalo

The day’s first walk takes us along the newly signed Bundian Way Story Trail, beginning at Cocora Beach. This culturally significant trail offers expansive views over the coastline, winding through native flora and wildlife-rich areas while sharing stories of the Yuin people and their deep connection to Country.

We continue to Quarantine Bay via Budginbro Lookout and a stretch of beach walking, before making our way to Lake Curalo. Here, an afternoon walk leads us along a scenic boardwalk and track around the lake’s edge. The route passes through melaleuca forest and salt marsh, offering excellent opportunities to spot birdlife and aquatic species. Depending on tides, we may cross the estuary mouth, which could mean getting our feet wet.

We also visit the Eden Killer Whale Museum for a guided tour, learning about Eden’s rich whaling, fishing, and timber history, and the story of the legendary killer whale, ‘Old Tom’. Tonight, we settle into our beachfront accommodation at the Seahorse Inn Villas. Unwind with a swim or relax on your private balcony before enjoying nibbles and a two-course dinner prepared by your guides.
