The crowds are gone, the air is crisp, and the days glimmer with the gentle light of a low sun, casting the coastline in a golden hue. This is the Off Season, and it’s the perfect time to walk and explore captivating beauty of Tasmania’s northeast.

Across three unforgettable days, you’ll climb windswept granite peaks and wander endless stretches of white sand and turquoise water. From the orange-lichen boulders of Mt. William National Park to the timeless lighthouse at Eddystone Point, every step brings a new discovery. You will visit Cape Naturaliste and Bay of Fires conservation area, walk through the wild coastline near Ansons Bay, and explore the peaceful Humbug Point track. Hidden in rainforest near Weldborough, you'll walk to the Giant Tree, stop by the 90-meter St. Columba Falls, and enjoy a local cheese tasting in Pyengana. If you’re lucky, you might even spot wallabies near Cube Rock or seabirds flying along the shore.

In the evenings, you’ll relax in Icena Farm with the opportunity to see plenty of animals, while your friendly guides prepare tasty meals. With flexible walking options and no need for special experience, this trip is open to everyone. Join us and enjoy the quiet magic of Tasmania’s wild coast!

Route details

Day 1
Mt. William Summit and Cape Naturalist to Boulder Point

Departing from the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Launceston, we travel through the serene countryside of Lilydale and the Pipers River wine region before pausing in the charming coastal town of Bridport. Our first walk takes us inland to the summit of wukalina / Mt. William in Mt.William National Park. At 216 metres above sea level, the panoramic views stretch far across the surrounding wild landscape, and on a clear day, to the distant Furneaux Islands. In clear weather, the Furneaux group of islands stand proud as lofty remnants of what remains of an ancient land bridge which once connected Tasmania with mainland Australia.

Later, we make our way to the pristine beaches of Cape Naturaliste. This afternoon walk gently introduces us to the coastal rhythm of the Bay of Fires. Expect the company of sea birds, the discovery of unique shells and marine finds along the shore, and time to connect with this striking seascape. After tea on the trail, we return to settle into our accommodation and enjoy a warm, home-cooked two-course dinner.
