Route details
We begin our adventure departing from Hobart toward the rugged Tasman Peninsula, where our first walk starts at the striking Remarkable Caves. En route, we may pause at Pirates Bay lookout to take in sweeping views over Pirates Bay and Cape Hauy. The trail initially winds through sand dunes blanketed with coastal heath, offering a chance to spot local wildlife like the shy echidna. As we walk, enjoy stunning westerly views stretching back toward Cape Raoul.
Soon, the path opens up to reveal the dramatic Maingon Blowhole, before turning inland and climbing the lower slopes of Mount Brown. A series of cairns marks the ascent to the summit (optional), where panoramic vistas unfold — from Cape Pillar and Tasman Island to Arthurs Peak, Cape Raoul, and even Bruny Island to the south. The walk concludes at the pristine shores of Crescent Bay — a secluded and breathtaking beach, where a swim may be possible if the weather allows.
After a fulfilling day on the trail, we return to our accommodation. There’s time for a swim, if you wish, followed by delicious pre-dinner snacks and a hearty two-course dinner lovingly prepared by your guides.
