Route details
At Wilsons Prom, our first hike of the day takes us through diverse terrain before opening up to The Big Drift — the sweeping sand dunes that seem to belong to another world, often missed by visitors. After returning, we’ll make a short stop at the general store for lunch.
Our second hike is a 7.8 km return trail to either Mt Oberon or Mt Bishop, where you’ll be rewarded with what many consider the finest coastal views in all of Victoria. Next, we head to one of our favorite spots, Squeaky Beach. Its pure white quartz sand creates a playful squeaking sound beneath your feet, making this beach a local icon.
As we leave the National Park, we’ll make a final stop to look for native wildlife. With a bit of luck, you’ll spot wombats, emus, kangaroos, and wallabies going about their daily lives.
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and many steps.

- SKSophie Kimabout provider13 Oct, 2025Had an incredible day exploring Mornington! The coastal trail offered stunning sea views, and soaking in the hot springs afterward was the perfect way to unwind. Our guides, Aaron and Andrew, were friendly, fun, and full of interesting insights, that was amazing! The pace was relaxed, giving us plenty of time to enjoy every moment. A perfect mix of nature, good company, and relaxation, so I highly recommend!
- JJamesabout provider8 Oct, 2025Our group was small, which made the experience even more personal. The hike up was a bit challenging in parts, but the views from the top and the waterfall made it totally worth it. Our guide, Andrew, was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced. With perfect weather and amazing scenery, it was an unforgettable day - I can’t wait to return to the Grampians!
- EEmilyabout provider13 Sep, 2025I joined this trip as a solo traveler and couldn’t be happier that I did. The guide was super friendly, played great music during the drive, and made sure everyone felt included. The whole group was lovely, and the views along the hike were absolutely breathtaking. Truly a memorable experience! :)
