Route details
We meet in Adelaide and depart at 7:45 am. We drive south to Cape Jervis, stopping along the way for a coffee break and some short scenic walks. Then we board the Sealink Ferry to Kangaroo Island. The ferry crossing takes about 45 minutes across the Backstairs Passage. When we arrive at Penneshaw, the gateway to Kangaroo Island, we begin our first walk.
Mid-morning, we start the Ironstone Hill Hike in Baudin Conservation Park. The walk follows the historic Bullock Track toward Cape Willoughby and leads to Ironstone Hill, with beautiful coastal views and some of the area’s farming history.
In the afternoon, on our way west to the wild and rugged part of the island, if time allows, we stop at Mt. Thisby Lookout. Here you will enjoy stunning views of the coastline and turquoise waters — a place you’ll come to love over the next few days. Afterwards, we go to our accommodation and settle in with a light snack and a two-course dinner prepared by your guides.
