What kind of cave makes you swim through cold underground rivers, climb wet rock, squeeze through dark passages, and come out muddy, tired, and completely alive? Lamlom Klong Ngu is that kind of place — a raw cave adventure hidden in the rainforest of Kanchanaburi.
The route begins at the national park, then continues by 4WD and on foot through the forest to Stone Pillar Cave. After lunch by the stream, you enter the cave system and move through cold underground rivers, limestone chambers, and dark passages. The reward is one of Thailand’s most striking natural sights: the world’s tallest stone pillar, rising 62.5 metres inside the cave. After the cave, there is an optional 4–5 metre waterfall jump before the hike back.
The second day leads to Swallow Cave, a naturally lit cave system with underground rivers, narrow sections, and flow stone formations shaped by water over millions of years. This trip is physically demanding and best for confident swimmers who are comfortable with darkness, cold water, slippery rocks, and enclosed spaces. Join this adventure if you want Thailand at its most wild, physical, and unforgettable!
