Some trails ask for strong legs. This one asks for balance, nerve, and a calm mind. This trek links two of Thailand’s most striking ridge routes: the sharp Knife-Edge Ridge of Khao Chang Phueak and the misty mountain lines of San Nok Wua, with a slower cultural pause in Sangkhla Buri between them.
The route starts from Bangkok and leads west into Kanchanaburi’s mountain country, with a stop at the historic Bridge over the River Kwai before reaching E-Tong Village near Pilok. From there, the trail climbs through forest and open grassland to Khao Chang Phueak, where the narrow ridge gives wide views in every direction. After a sunrise descent, the pace changes in Sangkhla Buri, with time to cross the wooden Mon Bridge, visit local villages and temples, and rest beside the water before the next trek.
The final mountain stage takes you into Khao Laem National Park and toward San Nok Wua, where forest trails, steep climbs, ridge views, cold nights, and early mist shape the experience. Accommodation is a mix of local stays and simple tent camping, with guided trekking and basic camp life far from city noise. Join this trek if you want Thailand at its rawest: high ridges, quiet border towns, and mornings above a sea of mist!
