Towering at 4,565 meters (14,977 ft), Mount Meru is a spectacular volcanic peak and the second-highest mountain in Tanzania. Located within the wild heart of Arusha National Park, it offers a dramatic contrast between savanna plains and lush forested slopes. As you ascend, you’ll pass through diverse ecosystems teeming with life—from colorful birds (nearly 400 species) to giraffes, buffalo, and playful colobus monkeys. Far less crowded than Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru delivers a more serene and intimate trekking experience—perfect for nature lovers seeking untamed beauty and wildlife encounters along every step.
