In the remote fells of Abisko, there are no roads, no signals, no shortcuts—only the raw rhythm of skis gliding through deep snow. This is the most demanding of our ski expeditions: a full week beyond marked trails, deep into the heart of Sweden’s wild north. Starting in Abisko, you’ll leave behind the comforts of roads and huts, venturing instead across untouched fells and high plateaus, where the only traces in the snow are your own.

Each day takes you higher into the Scandinavian mountains, with steady climbs, sweeping descents, and average daily distances of 15–20 km. At night, you’ll pitch your tent under Arctic skies, melt snow for water, and rely on the strength of your team and the rhythm of expedition life. This is real wilderness: no huts to retreat to, no mobile signal, no snowmobile tracks. Just silence, solitude, and the raw beauty of Abisko National Park and the remote highlands near Sweden’s highest peaks. With luck, the northern lights will dance overhead as you drift to sleep in your winter camp.

Join us and experience the purest form of backcountry skiing—an expedition that strips life down to its essentials, leaving you with stories and memories you’ll carry long after the snow has melted!

Tour provider's comments

For fit, experienced outdoor people only. You must be ready for full winter camping: building and living in tent camps, melting snow for water, adjusting to wind/whiteouts, managing clothing & morale in tough conditions.

If the weather is harsh, days can be shortened/lengthened—the itinerary adapts for group safety/projected fitness.

15–25 km/day (approx. 100 km total). Arctic alpine valleys, high passes, deep snow—nothing is pre-packed.
