Route details
At 4:30 AM, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali shortly after the safari briefing, and you'll begin your journey to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi. This national park, located in the Virunga conservation area that spans Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, is home to half of the world's mountain gorilla population.
Upon arrival in Kinigi, you will meet the senior ranger guide who will take you to the trailhead in search of the mountain gorillas. Once you locate the gorillas, you'll have an hour to observe their daily behaviors. After spending time with them, you'll return to the car park and drive back to Kigali, concluding your one-day gorilla adventure.
