Your adventure starts on a beach, where you'll stroll through the expansive dune region of the beaches at Ilha do Pessegueiro, Aivados, and Malhão.

You'll spend the night in Vila Nova de Milfontes.

This day is an opportunity to cleanse your spirit while taking in the stunning sights of Vila Nova de Milfontes and the Mira River as it flows into the ocean. The hike is brief and easy, allowing you to savor the surroundings. Walking across the bridge in Vila Nova de Milfontes provides magnificent views of the river's mouth.

Along this coastal stretch, you'll find areas rich in native vegetation showcasing its diversity, as well as sections where an invasive plant, the Acacia, has caused significant destruction. You'll spend the night in Almograve.

The towering cliffs you'll encounter during this segment of the journey, although constantly buffeted by ocean winds, serve as nesting habitats for over twenty bird species! Among them are the jackdaw, tufted warbler, common kestrel, "pure" turtle dove, white stork, peregrine falcon, and swallowtail.

If you pay attention while exploring this coastal area, you'll notice signs of historical climate changes marked in the rocks. You'll spend the night in Zambujeira do Mar.

On your journey to Azenha do Mar, you'll traverse the beaches of Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Machados, and Amália, where you can discover a natural fishing port.

You'll spend the night in Odeceixe.

Today, you'll stroll along the Mira irrigation canal, which is supplied by the waters from the Santa Clara Dam. The scenery offers expansive views, with mountains to the east and the ocean to the west. You can choose between two interconnected routes that will lead you to the coastal cliffs and allow you to explore the beaches of Odeceixe and Amoreira.

You'll spend the night in Aljezur.

Today, you'll trek fragrant valleys and quaint farms as you make your way toward the coast, already envisioning your route for the coming days. Leaving the village, you'll have the chance to take in the view of the Aljezur River valley, which stretches down to Amoreira Beach, allowing you to picture what Aljezur might have looked like in the 15th century.

You'll encounter part of the Fisherman's Trail, specifically the Ponta da Atalaia circuit, and stroll past Monte Clérigo beach and the legendary Ponta da Atalaia. In a region steeped in folklore and the history of the Portuguese conquest of the Moors, this walk offers a genuine trip back in time.

You'll spend the night in Arrifana.

In this section, you will explore the Historic Route, where the hills and the sea coexist alongside untouched nature and the distinctive influence of humanity. From Canal beach, you can admire Pedra da Agulha, while the expansive sandy stretch of Vale Figueira emerges at low tide, accompanied by a series of hills and valleys that highlight the rugged and remote character of this coastal region.

Upon your arrival, you'll be treated to a stunning view of the dunes at Bordeira beach and the inlet that meets the ocean, a scene that endlessly repeats and defines the beaches of the Costa Vicentina. You will spend the night in the village of Carrapateira.

Following a breathtaking view of Bordeira beach, you'll be captivated by the pristine valleys that feel untouched by humanity, as well as the charming villages of Vilarinha and Pedralva. This will prepare you for the strong winds anticipated upon your arrival in Vila do Bispo.

This area allows you to truly experience the spirit of the Costa Vicentina. As you pass through the Vila do Bispo forest, take your time and use your binoculars, as you're likely to spot some wildlife, especially birds. You'll spend the night in Vila do Bispo.

You will journey to the southwestern edge of Europe, a captivating location where the whispers of sailors and pilgrims seem to linger in the air. Here, you'll encounter towering cliffs, stunning coastal views, and an ideal spot to witness the spectacular autumn bird migration.

Your adventure will take you along an extension of the fisherman's trail, specifically the Telheiro beach circuit, featuring impressive cliffs, ravines adorned with native plants, ancient rock formations, and a remarkable arrival at Cape St. Vincent via the Fisherman's paths.

Conclude your exploration of Portugal's southwest coast in a truly unforgettable manner, with an overnight stay in Sagres.

Once you've checked out, you can either take a train to Faro airport or arrange for a private transfer from Sagres to Faro or Lisbon airport for an additional fee.
