On this thrilling trip, we will depart from Krakow to discover the breathtaking Pieniny National Park and several medieval castles along the way.

Established in 1932, Pieniny National Park is the oldest national park in Poland, safeguarding one of the country's most stunning mountain ranges. You'll be captivated by its remarkable limestone rock formations, the impressive Dunajec River gorge, and the rich variety of landscapes and plant life.

But that's not all. In the vicinity of the national park, we will also have the opportunity to explore two medieval castles. Additionally, during our hike, we will ascend Trzy Korony, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Pieniny. On the second day, we will visit Niedzica Castle and enjoy rafting on the Dunajec River.

Route details

We’ll begin our adventure with a scenic drive from Krakow to the picturesque Pieniny region.

Our first stop will be the romantic ruins of Czorsztyn Castle, perched above the Dunajec reservoir, where history and legends come alive among its medieval ruins. From there, we’ll set off on a hike through Pieniny National Park, Poland’s oldest national park, known for its dramatic limestone cliffs and breathtaking landscapes.

The highlight of the day will be reaching the summit of Trzy Korony (Three Crowns), the park’s most iconic peak, where a panoramic viewing platform offers unforgettable views over the Dunajec River Gorge and surrounding mountains.

Along the trail, we’ll also pass by the ruins of Pieniński Castle, a small medieval fortress with a unique atmosphere.

We will hike approx. 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during that trip.

No prior experience is required, but certain sections of the trail require a "good head" for heights. Note, that during one day we will gain approx 700 m of elevation, hence good fitness level is required. The program may be suitable for children and older people under the condition that they are able to make approx. 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during that trip.

It's important to know

In general, you will need a backpack, good hiking shoes, a first aid kit with your medicines, a warm clothing layer, sun protection, wind and rain protective clothes, a headtorch, water bottle, snacks and trekking poles. I will provide the detailed equipment list prior to the trip.
