Turbacz, the highest peak of the Gorce Mountains in Poland at 1310 m asl, offers a stunning 2-day adventure to witness its sunset and sunrise.

Starting from Krakow, we’ll hike for 5 hours through Gorce National Park’s pristine Carpathian forest. After enjoying the sunset from Turbacz, we'll stay overnight in a mountain hut. The next day, we’ll aim for a sunrise before continuing our hike back.

I maintain up-to-date licenses and permits for national parks in the Lesser Poland and Subcarpathian regions. Route details

Day 1
Krakow - Turbacz Peak

Our adventure begins with a transfer from Krakow to the starting point of the trek. From there, we set off on a scenic hike through the pristine forests of Gorce National Park, home to well-preserved Carpathian woodland and abundant wildlife.

The ascent to Turbacz (1,310 m), the highest peak of the Gorce Mountains, takes around 4–5 hours.

At the summit, we’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the Tatra Mountains and surrounding ranges.

As evening falls, we will experience one of the region’s most breathtaking moments: a mountain sunset from Turbacz peak.

Afterward, we head to a nearby mountain shelter to rest, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s hike.

We will hike approx. 15 km with 700 m of altitude gain a day.

No prior experience is required, as the hike is an easy one. Note, that during one day we will gain approx 700 m of elevation, hence good fitness level is required. The program may be suitable for children and older people under the condition that they are able to make approx. 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during one day.

Personal equipment you need for the tour

In general, you will need a backpack, good hiking shoes, a first aid kit with your medicines, a warm clothing layer, sun protection, wind and rain protective clothes, a headtorch, and trekking poles. I will provide the detailed equipment list prior to the trip.
