Turbacz (1310 m asl), the Gorce's highest peak, offers stunning views of the Tatra mountains, especially in winter when the scenery is enhanced by snow-covered spruce trees.

The route will be tailored to the group's fitness and weather conditions, with 5 to 7 hours of hiking each day.

Route details

Day 1
Kraków - Gorce - Turbacz

We begin our adventure with a private transfer from Kraków to the Gorce Mountains, where we set off on our snowshoe hike. The trail leads us through enchanting winter landscapes, with snow-covered spruce forests and wide-open clearings offering glimpses of the distant Tatra Mountains.

After several hours of hiking, we reach the Turbacz mountain hut, beautifully situated beneath the highest peak of the Gorce range (1,310 m). Here we enjoy a well-deserved rest, a hearty dinner with local specialties, and the warm, cozy atmosphere of a traditional mountain hut.

Weather permitting, we will head up to the summit in the evening to watch the sun set over the snow-blanketed mountains - a truly unforgettable sight.

Overnight stay at Turbacz hut.

Tour provider's comments

We will hike approx. 10 km with up to 700 m of altitude gain each day.

No prior experience is required, note however that winter in the mountains requires really good physical and mental condition. The program is rather not suitable for children or older people.
