The road to Mount M’Goun does not lead to a crowded trailhead. It leads into the quieter side of Morocco — past Marrakech, through the High Atlas, and into the green Aït Bouguemez Valley, where village fields sit below long ridges and the mountains already feel close.
This is a true high-altitude trek across the M’Goun Massif, built for strong walkers who want more than a quick summit photo. For several days, you move through Amazigh villages, river crossings, narrow gorges, wide plateaus, and high passes, with time to acclimatize before the final climb. Summit day starts early and demands steady effort, but no technical climbing. At 4,068 metres, the reward is a wide view over the High Atlas and the desert plains beyond.
The journey is supported by a local trekking team and mules carrying the main luggage. Nights are spent in simple guesthouses and bivouac camps under vast mountain skies. Join this trek if you are ready to earn Morocco’s second-highest summit step by step!
