Step into a living fairytale on Japan’s mystical Yakushima Island, where ancient forests whisper legends and moss-covered giants reach for the sky. This World Heritage hiking adventure invites you to reconnect—with nature, with time, and with the quiet wonder of walking among trees that have stood for over two millennia.

Over four unforgettable days, you’ll hike through the inspiration behind a famous Japanese anime—the ethereal White Valley, stand before the sacred Jomon Sugi—believed to be over 2,000 years old—and explore rich, volcanic trails steeped in history and mystery. From gentle hikes along an old logging railway to more demanding ascents through rugged, untouched terrain, every step reveals a story, every turn a marvel.

Join us and let Yakushima’s ancient spirit awaken your own sense of adventure!

I was fortunate that Tony flipped the walk around so i could start the morning with a rare view of My Fuji reflected in the lake. We visited the traditional tea house along the shogun trail and two beautiful watetfalls in the forest. Tony’s wealth of cultural and ecological knowledge was a highlight. I highly recommend this memorable experience.

Tony was a great guide who answered all our questions in a very entertaining and knowledgable way. My 18 year old son and my 21 year old daughter also enjoyed the hike very much. We especially liked the visit to the tea house a lot and the magnificient views of Mount Fuji. All in all, a very memorable trip - we definitely recommend this tour!!!
