Hidden deep within the Supramonte mountains, the Tiscali Nuragic Village is one of Sardinia’s most mysterious and captivating archaeological sites.
This hike can begin from either the Lanaithu Valley in Oliena or the Oddoene Valley in Dorgali, both surrounded by vineyards where the famous Cannonau grapes thrive under the Mediterranean sun. As you venture into the karst landscape, you’ll encounter ancient caves such as Sa Oche, Corbeddu, and the stunning Sa Nurre de su Hoda, illuminated by a single beam of sunlight during the summer solstice.
Tiscali itself lies hidden inside a sinkhole formed by a collapsed mountain, accessible only via narrow forest trails and rocky paths. Once inside, you’ll find the remains of prehistoric stone dwellings perched on the inner walls — silent witnesses to Sardinia’s Bronze Age.
Surrounded by limestone cliffs and untouched wilderness, this trek is not only a journey through nature, but through time itself.
