This lengthy trek through rugged wilderness includes crossing multiple small rivers and navigating the challenging Atsunta Pass, making it quite strenuous for those who are inexperienced in hiking.

Route details

Day 1
Tbilisi-Abano Pass-Omalo

Pickup from Tbilisi at 6:00 AM.

Driving distance: 190 km, appx. 5 hours.

Join us on a journey from Tbilisi to the Tusheti region. After we pass through the village of Pshaveli, we'll begin an exciting off-road adventure, traversing the main Caucasus range at the Abano pass, which stands at 2926 meters.

Our destination will be the village of Omalo, the largest settlement in the Tusheti area. After some time to relax and enjoy dinner at the guesthouse, we will have a final briefing about the upcoming trekking trip through Atsunta pass.

We'll spend the night at a guesthouse in Omalo.
