Winter in North Karelia feels peaceful and unhurried. Snow-covered forests, frozen lakes, and crisp air create the perfect setting to experience Finnish winter close to nature.
Your base is the welcoming Laitalan Lomat guesthouse, where cozy rooms, good food, and a relaxing sauna await each evening. During the week you join guided ski tours through forest trails, lakeshores, and quiet villages. Beginners learn the basics, while more experienced skiers enjoy longer routes through snowy landscapes.
Along the way you stop for open-fire lunches, visit peaceful villages, try snowshoeing in Koli National Park, and relax in a Karelian spa. The pace is comfortable and the groups are small, guided by locals who know the area well.
The group is international and the guiding is in English.
