Hiking Through the National Parks of Deepland

After a hearty farmhouse breakfast, you head to Salamajärvi National Park for a guided hike. The route goes around Lake Iso Koirajärvi, with a break by the fire for a light snack. If you’re lucky, you may spot forest reindeer along the way. In the afternoon, there is time to relax before dinner. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset at the lean-to and spend the night at the guesthouse.

This day is dedicated to rest and wellbeing. After breakfast, you can relax in the glamping tent reserved for you. Together, you collect herbs from nature and prepare soothing herbal foot baths. Optional treatments such as peat therapy or massage are available at extra cost. In the evening, dinner is served, followed by hot tub and sauna time.

After breakfast, you set off for a hike along Peuran Polku. The route circles Lake Valkeisjärvi (5.5 km) with a break at the Pökkelöniemi lean-to. After the hike, there is time to rest before a special game dinner at Restaurant Pikku Peura by the lake, offering local flavours from the region.

The day begins with breakfast, followed by a hands-on experience of making traditional local pastries or pies. Depending on the season, you may also go berry picking in the nearby forest. If weather allows, cooking is done outdoors over an open fire. Dinner is served at Karkausmäki, and the sauna is available in the evening.

After breakfast, you travel to Pyhä-Häkki National Park in Kannonkoski. Here, you walk among ancient pine trees, some over 400 years old. The hike follows either the Mastomäki trail (3.2 km) or the Kotajärvi trail (6.5 km), with a picnic break along the way. In the evening, you return to Karkausmäki for dinner and sauna.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Time to say moi moi and continue your journey.
