There are places where winter feels more special — no crowds, no busy trails, just skis moving over fresh track and forest stretching white in every direction. This journey takes you into Finland’s eastern wilderness, where the route is prepared specially for your small group and the silence feels part of the experience.
Over five skiing days, you cover around 100 km through Hossa National Park, Martinselkonen Nature Reserve, and the remote forests near Arola. The first day follows maintained tracks in Hossa; after that, a snowmobile guide prepares the trail exclusively for the group. You ski across frozen lakes and marshes, through pine forests, ridges, mires, and old spruce woods covered with beard lichen. Lunches are taken outdoors around open fires, with hot soup, sandwiches, and coffee to warm the day.
Evenings bring guesthouse comfort, homemade meals, Finnish saunas, and once, the chance to try ice swimming. Come for a true ski week far from the usual winter routes!
