Route details

Begin your journey from Praia into the interior of the island, making your first stop at Serra Malagueta. Upon reaching the Natural Park, one of the island's lushest areas, start your hike at an elevation of 800 meters. Explore the pristine nature, abundant with local flora and fauna, and ascend to 1064 meters. The trails are mostly flat, showcasing various endemic species and offering stunning views of Assomada, the Principal canyon, and, on clear days, the islands of Fogo and Maio. After two hours of hiking, take a break for a picnic in the forest.

Continue your trek from the mountain summit, enjoying breathtaking 360-degree views between two green valleys until you reach Mato Correia Village. Here, visit the Rabelados Community, known for its thatched houses and preservation of Cape Verde's oldest customs and beliefs. The tour concludes with a return to your accommodation in Praia.
