Take a break from the bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the wild beauty of Bulgaria’s heartland. This two-day hiking adventure leads you deep into the Central Balkan National Park, where breathtaking views, alpine landscapes, and serene mountain trails await.

Your journey begins with a hike to the stunning Raysko Praskalo, the highest waterfall in Bulgaria and the entire Balkan Peninsula. From there, you’ll spend the night at the picturesque Paradise Hut (Rai Hut), nestled at the foot of the mountains — the perfect spot to rest and soak in nature’s silence.

On day two, we ascend to Botev Peak, the highest point of the Balkan Mountains at 2,376 meters (7,795 ft) above sea level. Located near the geographic center of Bulgaria, this summit offers panoramic views that stretch across the country.

Whether you're an experienced hiker or a passionate explorer, this tour is your gateway to one of Bulgaria’s most iconic natural landmarks.

Route details

Day 1
Journey to Paradise Hut and Raysko Praskalo

Your adventure begins early in the morning. At 06:30, our team will greet you in Sofia, behind the Alexander Nevski Cathedral. If you're joining us from Plovdiv, we’ll meet you at 08:30 in front of Hotel Princess. Alternatively, you can prearrange a different pickup location with our booking team.

After pickup, we’ll travel for about 2.5 hours to our starting point near Panitsite, close to the town of Kalofer. From there, we begin a scenic 2-hour hike to the Djendema Reserve, where we’ll take a short break to admire the spectacular mountain views.

Next, we continue with a 2 hour and 45-minute hike to reach Paradise Hut (Rai Hut), situated at 1,430 m (4,691 ft) above sea level. From here, you'll enjoy a panoramic view of Raysko Praskalo, the highest waterfall in the Balkans, also known as the “Heavenly Sprinkler.”

After a pleasant picnic in the peaceful surroundings near the waterfall, we’ll take a short 30-minute hike directly to Raysko Praskalo to experience its full beauty. Then we return to Paradise Hut, where we’ll have dinner and prepare for the next day’s summit.
