High in the Alps, between Austria and Switzerland, the Silvretta mountains wait with wide glaciers, quiet valleys, and white peaks that feel endless. This beautiful place is one of the best spots to begin your journey into ski touring.
During three days you will learn the key skills for moving in the backcountry: walking with skins, making kick turns on the climb, reading the terrain for avalanche safety, and saving energy on long ascents. Every day brings a new tour into the dramatic Silvretta landscape, with amazing views and the joy of fresh tracks in untouched snow. In a small group, you share the effort of the climbs and the excitement of skiing down.
In the evenings, you return to a cozy mountain lodge by Lake Silvretta. Warm meals, comfortable beds, and views of the glaciers make it a perfect place to relax. All is organized for you—guiding, meals, and equipment—so you can focus only on skiing and enjoying the mountains. If you dream of leaving the ski lifts behind and starting your backcountry adventure, this is the perfect weekend to try. Join us and let's do it!

Route details
Please note: the final program will be adapted by your experienced mountain guide depending on the weather and snow conditions. Accommodation in St. Anton is not included in the trip price, but our team will gladly help you arrange it if needed.
We start with a short transfer (about 1 hour) from St. Anton to the Silvretta area to make the most of the day. For this reason, we recommend arriving in St. Anton the evening before, so we can meet up, check equipment, and hold a final briefing. From Partenen, at the edge of the Silvretta, we’ll take the Vermunt cable car and continue through the tunnel ride into the mountains. After dropping some of the heavier gear at the hut, we’ll head out for a warm-up ski tour near the impressive Silvretta Lake. The afternoon is also a chance to cover safety, avalanche awareness, and orientation with your guide before sitting down to a hearty dinner together.

This ski tour is perfect for the first time ski tourer who would like to make their first touring tracks away from the ski resort into backcountry, discover the adventure of staying in a mountain lodge in a safe and confidence-boosting environment.
You can expect an intensive 3-day bootcamp that will teach you safe skinning techniques, basics of navigation in a winter alpine backcountry, avalanche awareness and how to conserve energy and breathe while ‘Earning your turns’.
