Some places are best understood from the water: by a fishing boat at night, a long-tail boat between cliffs, or a quiet raft house floating on a green lake. This route follows Southern Thailand from the calm coast of Chumphon to the rainforest world of Khao Sok, mixing sea, jungle, village life, and slow travel.
The journey begins at Sairee Beach and the Prince of Chumphon Shrine before a night at Ao Kram Homestay. After dark, you head out with local fishermen for squid fishing, with bioluminescent plankton glowing beneath the boat. The next days are shaped by the sea: snorkeling around Koh Kula, Koh Kai Ron, Koh Ped Ron, coral gardens, limestone formations, sea caves, and reef fish in the Gulf of Thailand. Then the route turns inland, toward Surat Thani’s clear jungle pools, where you can kayak and swim at Khlong Nam Sai.
The final part takes you deep into Khao Sok National Park. A long-tail boat crosses Cheow Lan Lake between tall limestone cliffs before reaching a floating raft house hidden on the water. There is time for a sunrise lake safari, an optional jungle trek, bamboo rafting, and Coral Cave. Join this adventure for a Southern Thailand that feels quiet, raw, and close to nature!
