This full-day guided expedition covers 35–45 km with an elevation gain between 1200–1800 m, offering a mix of paved roads, gravel trails, forest paths, and rugged climbs. Starting from Kandy after breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the foothills of the Knuckles Forest Reserve, where your adventure begins with an exhilarating downhill ride followed by steep climbs through mist-covered peaks. Along the way, enjoy a refreshing break at a natural pool, a traditional village lunch, and incredible views from Corbett’s Gap, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic mountain passes.

Route details

After hotel pickup in Kandy, we’ll drive roughly 25 km in a safari-style jeep to the starting point near the Knuckles foothills.

Begin your descent toward the Knuckles Forest Reserve, surrounded by lush greenery and cool mountain air.

Stop at a natural swimming pool for a short rest before tackling the challenging 2.5 km climb, with a support vehicle always nearby for assistance.

Continue through quiet village roads and forest trails until we stop for a home-cooked lunch in a traditional mountain village.

The next segment features a thrilling gravel and rocky trail, shaded by thick forest cover. Reach the breathtaking viewpoint of Corbett’s Gap, where panoramic vistas of the Knuckles range await.

After a tea break at the base camp, we’ll ride through moderate climbs and a fast downhill stretch to Hunnasgiriya, where your adventure concludes.

Return transfer to Kandy included.
