Prepare for a thrilling mountain adventure as you conquer Kirigalpoththa, the second-highest mountain in Sri Lanka, rising to 2,388 meters (7,835 ft) above sea level. Located in the heart of Horton Plains National Park, this is the highest publicly accessible peak in the country — and one of its most challenging hikes.

This 14 km round-trip trail will test your endurance and determination, rewarding you with some of the most breathtaking views in Sri Lanka. The hike typically takes around 6 hours, crossing diverse terrains — from windswept grasslands and misty cloud forests to rocky ascents and narrow overgrown trails.

As you make your way upward, keep an eye out for the unique wildlife of Horton Plains, including Sambar Deer, Bear Monkeys, and even Leopards. Your experienced guides will lead you safely through the trail, sharing fascinating insights about the region’s flora, fauna, and geology.
