Tocllaraju, a majestic snow-capped peak, stands proudly in the Chinchey massif of the Cordillera Blanca. Its striking pyramidal shape towers over the Ishinca Gorge, making it one of the most iconic peaks in the Peruvian Andes. Known as a classic 6,000-meter challenge, Tocllaraju offers an unforgettable adventure for mountaineers eager to conquer their first peak of such height in this breathtaking range.

But don’t be fooled by its beauty – the ascent is a true test of skill and endurance. Climbers face wide, deep crevasses, unpredictable fog that can blanket the mountain, and strong winds that whip across the northwest ridge. The final stretch, scaling the summit’s icy terrain, presents its own thrilling challenge, making this a must-do peak for those seeking both adventure and awe in the Peruvian Andes.

Hi, I'm Pablo. I was born in Huaraz at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. I studied systems engineering and at the same time I practiced trekking on my own, after finishing my engineering career I decided to study for Official Tourist Guide and later I took a specialization course in mountaineering authorized by the Peruvian Government. During my beginnings in mountaineering I climbed important mountains such as: Huascaran, Alpamayo, Artesonraju, Chopicalqui, Ranrapalca, Tocllaraju and the classic 5 thousand mountains. I traveled to Ecuador where I climbed all the volcanoes such as: Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Ilinizas, Cayambe, as well as Obispo Peak, the most challenging and technical mountain in Ecuador. In 2019 I climbed Aconcagua and now I lead expeditions annually. Mountaineering is my passion and work in this beautiful world.
