Route details
We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and embark on a scenic 3-hour drive to Mollepata, where we will stop for breakfast (not included) at one of the local houses.
From there, we will continue on to Soraypampa (3,800 m / 12,467 ft), the starting point of the Salkantay trek, where we’ll meet our support team. They will prepare everything for the trek and load the equipment onto the horses. Our first stop will be the stunning Humantay Lagoon. After taking in the beauty and capturing some photos, we will head back to Soraypampa.
Today’s hike will take us uphill from Soraypampa to Ichupata (4,500 m / 14,673 ft), located in the upper valley. This 5-6 hour hike will pass by Salkantay Pampa, where we will stop for lunch.
