The Gokyo Valley Trek leads you to the quaint village of Gokyo in the Everest Region, situated in Solukhumbu at an altitude of 4,750 meters (15,584 feet). Nestled in the Himalayas, it ranks among the highest inhabited areas in the world. This trek is remarkable in its own right, offering a journey through diverse landscapes in a relatively short time.Â
The adventure begins with a picturesque flight from Kathmandu to the small hilltop settlement of Lukla, which serves as the starting point for various treks in the Khumbu region. Upon arriving in Lukla, your trek commences as you make your way to Phakding. Along the route, you'll be treated to views of Mount Khumbila, revered as the âGod of Khumbu.â This sacred peak is off-limits for climbing, making it one of the untouched summits in the area. From Phakding, you will continue through lush wilderness towards Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital and economic center of the region.
