Trekking Toubkal: A 9-Day Adventure in the Atlas Mountains

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will take a van to Oukaimeden (2600m), the most renowned ski resort in North Africa, where our expedition will begin.

The entire team, including our guide, mules, mule handlers, and cook, will set off on the trek. We’ll head towards Eddi Hill, where we’ll have the chance to admire the stunning panoramic views of the Angour (3600m) and Akwai (2912m) peaks. We will stop for lunch along the way.

Our trek will then take us down to the charming town of Ouaneskra (2200m), where we will spend the night in tents.

The trek will last approximately 4 to 5 hours.

After having breakfast, we will continue through the Imanane valley passing through the towns of Tamgiset and Ikkis.

We will go up to the Arg hill (1780m) to Imsker village where we will have lunch, and then go on our way to the valley of Aït Mizane in order to get to Imi-Ourghlad (1400m).

We will spend the night in tents (guest house in case of bad weather).

The trek will last approximately 5 to 6 hours.

Following breakfast, we will begin our trek to Tizi N’Techt hill (2100m), with lunch provided along the route.

After approximately one and a half hour, we will reach the village of Tiziane and continue on to Tizi Oussem village (1800m).

We will spend the night in tents after a total walking time of 5 hours.

Following an early breakfast, we will ascend to the Tizi Mazik pass, traversing a picturesque forest of juniper trees while taking in the stunning views of the Tazararta Plateau (3800m).

We will stop for lunch along the way before descending into the Imlil Valley, passing by the Aberdon fountain (2200m).

The trek will last approximately 5 to 6 hours.

After breakfast, we will depart from Imlil (1740 m) and head towards the Toubkal refuge (3207 m), passing through Aremd and the Muslim shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2280 m), where we will stop for lunch.

Following the river, we will continue our trek up to the Toubkal refuge (3207 m). Dinner will be served, and we will spend the night in tents. Alternatively, if the weather is poor or if guests prefer, there is an option to have dinner and sleep in the refuge.

After breakfast, we'll ascend to Toubkal Mountain, the highest peak in North Africa at 4,167 meters. From the summit, you'll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Tifnout, Imlil, and Oukaimden ski station valleys.

Shortly thereafter, we'll begin our trek back down, where we'll enjoy lunch in the tents before continuing our journey to the town of Imlil.

Dinner will be served in local homes.

The trek will last approximately 8 to 10 hours.

On this day, we will have ample time to discover and explore the city of Marrakech and its various attractions, including the vibrant Jamaa El Fna square, historic palaces, cemeteries, charming streets, and bustling markets.

You will spend the night at the hotel.

You will be transferred back to Marrakech airport.
