I was born and raised in a small village in the Ait Bougumez Valley, located in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Growing up surrounded by such breathtaking natural beauty, I developed a deep connection to the land, its history, and its people. To further my passion, I pursued studies in tour guiding at the Centre de Formation des Métiers du Montagne in Tabant, the only institute of its kind in North Africa. With over 20 years of experience as a tour guide, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my extensive knowledge of Morocco’s mountains and desert treks with travelers from all over the world. Route details

Travel by minibus, 4x4, or taxi (depending on the size of the group) towards southern Morocco, passing through the Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views along the route.

As you descend from the pass, the scenery transforms into a semi-desert landscape with fewer trees and vegetation. Stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before continuing to Kelaa M'Gouna and then on to the Dades Valley.

Spend the night in tents just outside the village of Ait Youl. The journey takes approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes.

I did 5 days of guided trekking in the Ait Bougmuez Valley and had a blast. The guide knows the valley like the back of his hand and took me on some really good hikes in the surrounding mountains (Jebel Azourki & Jebel Wougalzat). Great experience overall and would trek with the guys again!

We did the 14 days Best of Morocco with the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert camping. All of our groups thoroughly enjoyed the wonderfully planned itineraries of which the highlights were the Atlas Mountains region and the 4WD camping in the desert. The accommodations and food was very good. Our guide, Younes, was very professional and knowledgeable and will go above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and happy. His very pleasant personality was the key point in making our trip wonderful. A definite asset to the company. Our driver, Ibrahim was also very pleasant and an expert in handling the big coach. This second trip to Morocco for us was more memorable than the previous due to the above reasons. So, a good itinerary with a reputable company with good guides is very essential for a wonderful and memorable tour. Highly recommend. (We are already contemplating touring the high Atlas Mountains region next).

It was a wonderful experience, a big thank you to the cook Brahim with his delicious meals we were able to stay up and continue our trip, a big thank you to Hussein, Boujamaa and Ahmed with all their kindness and good services! Thanks to you it was an unforgettable experience. Absolutely loved the trek!
