What does it feel like to ride through valleys where ancient petroglyphs whisper history, glaciers carve the horizon, and nomads still live as they did centuries ago? The Altai Tavan Bogd National Park invites you into a world where Mongolia’s wild heart beats strongest.
Over six unforgettable days you’ll follow rugged tracks on horseback, ride to the foot of the towering Tavan Bogd peaks, and stand breathless at the edge of the Potanin Glacier. You’ll trek through the dramatic Snake Valley, hike to the thunder of Turgen Waterfall, and lose yourself in the turquoise calm of Khoton and Khurgan Lakes. Along the way, there are moments you’ll never forget: sharing salty tea in a Kazakh yurt, tasting fresh handmade dairy, watching a golden eagle launch into the sky from a hunter’s arm. And scattered across the land, the ancient balbal and deer stones remind you how long people have walked these trails before you.
Evenings are their own kind of magic — tents pitched beneath skies blazing with stars, or a warm night in a ger camp for a taste of comfort before the road calls again. With guiding, meals, and logistics taken care of, all that’s left for you is to ride, explore, and let the adventure carry you. Let the Altai take you beyond the maps, into a land where every step writes a story!
