Gobi and Central Mongolia Combined Tour

This morning, after enjoying breakfast at the hotel, our guide and driver will pick you up.

We will then journey to the Baga Gazriin Chuluu rocky formation, known as the “stone of the little place”, situated in the northwest of Dundgovi province. Here, you can observe inscriptions made by two revered monks who resided in the area during the 19th century. We will also explore the ruins of a 17th-century temple.

Additionally, we will come across a deep, narrow crevice that collects stagnant rainwater, believed to have healing properties for eye ailments. A small ladle is provided on the rock for visitors to wash their eyes with this sacred water.

This morning, after enjoying a delicious breakfast at your tourist camp, we will set off for Tsagaan Suvarga, situated in the Dundgovi province.

From a distance, the impressive east-facing cliff resembles the remnants of an ancient city, making it a fascinating sight. Tsagaan Suvarga features strikingly diverse clay deposits, showcasing an array of colors in its 90-degree formations.

This morning, we will drive to Yol Valley, also known as Vulture Canyon. This stunning, deep canyon features numerous rocky cliffs shaped by years of water erosion. Upon our arrival, we will take on a two-hour hike to explore remnants of a glacier from the winter season.

Also, we will have the option to visit the local Natural History Museum either on our way to or from the park. The museum showcases fascinating exhibits, including dinosaur eggs and bones, petrified trees, and a display of a snow leopard.

The Khongor sand dune is one of the largest and most breathtaking dunes in Mongolia, rising up to 200 meters high, spanning 7-8 kilometers in width, and stretching 180 kilometers in length. The experience of climbing these dunes is awe-inspiring, offering stunning views from the summit.

Сlimbers are often amazed to hear the dunes produce a melodic sound as they ascend, which has earned them the nickname “singing dunes”.

Visiting this natural wonder provides a unique sense of comfort and tranquility. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to ride a camel along the Khongor dunes. The gentle Bactrian camels, with their two humps, offer a smooth and enjoyable ride, allowing you to relax comfortably as you sit nestled between them.

This morning, we will embark on a journey to the Bayanzag region, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs and the “Cradle of Dinosaurs”.

It was here, in 1922, that the first-ever nest of dinosaur eggs was discovered. We will have the opportunity to explore this remarkable area.

Following our exploration, we will proceed to the Ongi Monastery, which was established in the late 18th century to honor the first visit of a Dalai Lama to Mongolia.

Today, we will take a journey to Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site since 2005. This region is home to numerous ancient monuments of Mongolia.

The Orkhon Waterfall, known as Ulaan Tsutgalan, was created by volcanic eruptions approximately 20,000 years ago.

The waterfall plunges 22 meters and spans 10 meters in width. While we are here, we will have the opportunity to visit a nomadic family and enjoy an hour of horseback riding.

In the morning, we will take a drive to Kharkhorum, the ancient capital of the Great Mongolian Empire. This city served as the center of Mongolian power for just 40 years before Khubilai Khaan relocated it to Beijing. Unfortunately, much of Kharkhorum was destroyed by Chinese soldiers in the latter half of the 14th century. The ruins of the city were later repurposed to construct the Erdene Zuu Monastery in the 16th century.

Upon our arrival in Kharkhorum, we will be greeted by the impressive walls of the Erdene Zuu Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Take your time to explore the surroundings and visit the museum, among other attractions.

In the morning, we will head to Uglii Lake, a freshwater gem located in eastern Arkhangai, central Mongolia. Recognized as a Ramsar Site of International Importance, the lake is renowned for its abundant fish and diverse birdlife, serving as a vital stopover for migrating waterfowl from the Anatidae family.

With nearly half of the lake's depth measuring less than 3 meters, it offers opportunities for swimming and fishing. Be sure to pack your swimsuit!

In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional Mongolian BBQ for dinner.

Today, we are heading to Hustai National Park, located in the foothills of the northern Khentii mountain range. This beautiful park is home to the Takhi, also known as Przewalski horses, which are renowned worldwide.

These remarkable wild horses have successfully returned to their natural habitat after being extinct for 40 years, and their population has now surpassed 450 individuals.

This morning, following breakfast, we will head to the Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue Complex, which was constructed in 2008 to commemorate the eight-hundredth anniversary of the Mongolian Empire and its founder, Chinggis Khan. This impressive stainless steel statue stands 40 meters (131 feet) tall and weighs 250 tons, making it the tallest statue of a man on horseback in the world. If you are interested, there will be an opportunity for some shopping.

Next, we will continue our journey to Terelj National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes that feature dramatic mountains, granite cliffs, lush forests, and flowing rivers.

Upon arrival, we will visit the Aryabal Buddhist meditation temple, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the park's tranquil beauty from the temple’s vantage point. After exploring, we will return to the city and transfer you back to your hotel.

This morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Chinggis Khan International Airport.
