Blue Pearl Khuvsgul Lake Expedition

This morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and journey to the Elsen Tasarkhai semi-desert.

This stunning area features a blend of sand dunes, hills adorned with rare shrubs, and a small forest nestled by a river. It offers a unique fusion of Mongolian mountains, forests, and Gobi-like landscapes all in one place.

While there, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an hour-long camel ride. For dinner, we will savor traditional Mongolian BBQ and learn from local Nomads about their cooking methods.

We will journey to the historic capital of Kharkhorum, which was designated as the heart of Chinggis Khaan's expansive Empire in 1220.

Today, this remarkable site offers a wealth of attractions to explore, including the iconic turtle rock sculptures, ancient Buddhist stupas, and the remnants of this once-thriving city.

Notably, Erdenezuu, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, was founded in 1586 and continues to stand as a testament to its rich heritage, housing invaluable religious artifacts and exquisite Mongolian art.

After breakfast, we will take on a journey to Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur. Our first stop will be the extinct Khorgo volcano, where we will trek to its impressive crater that last erupted approximately 7,000 years ago. Located on the eastern shore of Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, Khorgo Mountain is a dormant volcano, and its crater is adorned with Siberian Larch trees.

Following our visit to the volcano, we will head to Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, which was formed when the lava from the Khorgo volcano blocked the Suman River, creating a stunning gorge through the basalt. This breathtaking lake is an ideal location for bird-watching and fishing, offering a serene escape into nature.

Following breakfast, we will take on a roughly five-hour drive to Zuun Lake.

This lake is a fantastic spot for birdwatching and conveniently situated on the route to Khuvsgul National Park.

Today, we will journey to Khuvsgul Lake, the deepest and clearest lake in Mongolia.

Often referred to as the Blue Pearl of Mongolia, it lies next to Siberia and offers breathtaking views of its stunning landscapes.

We will take a trek to the lakeshore and the surrounding mountains, capturing photos and immersing ourselves in the diverse wildlife, flora, and fauna of the Khuvsgul Lake region.

This morning, we will take on a horseback journey to the Khuvsgul Lake region, where we will enjoy a leisurely stroll around the lake.

If you are interested, you can rent a canoe to explore Khusliin Khad, also known as "Wishing Rock," making the most of our time there. There is a chance we might spot reindeer, providing the perfect opportunity for a memorable photo to capture this unforgettable experience.

This morning, after breakfast, we will set off for Uran-Togoo National Park, situated in the Khutag-Öndör sum of Bulgan aimag.

Uran Uul is an extinct volcano with a crater that rises 1,686 meters (1.05 miles) above sea level, spans 500 meters (0.31 miles) in diameter, and descends to a depth of 50 meters (164.04 feet).

This morning, following breakfast, we will head to Amarbayasgalant Monastery, which translates to "Monastery of Quiet Felicity". Nestled at the base of Mount Burenkhan, it overlooks the Selenge River.

As one of Mongolia's three largest monasteries, it was established in the 18th century by the Manchu emperor Enkh Amgalan Khan. This remarkable structure, now over 300 years old, stands with pride.

This morning, following a satisfying breakfast at the tourist camp, we will head back to the city, expected to arrive around noon. Finally, we will drop you off at the international airport, marking the conclusion of our tour.
