From the moment you arrive in Africa, you'll go on an extraordinary adventure unlike any you've experienced before. This is a journey meant to be felt rather than simply undertaken. It's designed for nature enthusiasts who appreciate highlands but may not be able to hike, trek, or climb at high altitudes, as well as for those who adore mountains but have limited time. Mount Kenya is unique as it sits directly on the equator. During this trip, you'll cross the equator and witness it firsthand.

Route details
You will depart from Nairobi at 7:00 a.m. heading to Sirimon Gate via Nanyuki, where you'll cross the equator for the first time. You'll have the opportunity to conduct an experiment to confirm your exact location at the equator before continuing on to Sirimon Gate for lunch.
The distance from Nairobi to Sirimon Gate is 2,650 meters. After lunch, you will go on a trek to Old Moses Camp, which is nine kilometers away and takes approximately three to four hours. The route will take you through a forest of native trees, including podocarpus, Douglas fir, red cinder, and pine, as well as bamboo, before reaching the heath area and arriving at Old Moses Hut around 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.
In the evening, a guide will lead you on a short hike up to an altitude of 3,600 meters before returning to the hut for dinner and an overnight stay. At this elevation, you will transition from heath and shrubland to savanna moorland, providing clear views of the Laikipia Plateau, which is the largest plateau surrounding Mount Kenya.

Ascend to 4,001 meters.
