Experience Cinque Terre and the Italian Riviera in a way few travelers do—through hidden trails, exclusive visits, and authentic local encounters. This journey takes you beyond the crowds, offering a deeper connection to the region’s landscapes, history, and cuisine.

Walk through the vineyards of Manarola, where terraced rows overlook the sea, and enjoy a private visit to Monterosso’s monastery, where we’ll meet the resident friar. Explore Chiavari, a town famous for its master artisans who have crafted Italy’s finest wooden chairs for generations. In Camogli, a colorful fishing village, we’ll indulge in a fresh seafood lunch by the beach before hiking the spectacular coastal path from Santa Margherita to Portofino, winding through olive groves and panoramic cliffs. Our journey continues with a private boat ride to the secluded abbey of San Fruttuoso, a hidden gem nestled between forested cliffs and turquoise waters.

After exploring the town, we board a short train ride to Vernazza, often considered the most picturesque village in Cinque Terre. With its colorful waterfront, small harbor, and timeless fishing traditions, Vernazza is officially recognized as one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.

Tour provider's comments

In short, this is a 2+ rating that indicates a walk that’s slightly more challenging than easy, but still not too difficult, making it a good choice for those with basic experience and fitness.

A walk rating of 2+ on a scale from 1 to 5 typically indicates that the walk or hike is of moderate difficulty, but slightly easier than a full 3 rating. Here’s a breakdown of what this might mean:

  • Terrain: The terrain may be uneven, with some inclines or obstacles, but generally manageable for most people with moderate fitness. There could be a mix of flat and mildly challenging sections.
  • Distance: The distance is not overly long but might require more time than an easy walk. This could be somewhere between 3 to 5 miles (5-8 km), though it varies depending on the setting.
  • Elevation gain: There could be some uphill or downhill sections, but nothing too steep or sustained. The elevation changes would be noticeable but not strenuous.
  • Skill level: It would be suitable for beginners looking to challenge themselves slightly, or for intermediate walkers looking for a more relaxed outing.
