The Tour of Vanoise National Park is one of the great classic treks of the French Alps — a five-day journey through the very heart of one of Europe’s oldest and most celebrated national parks. The Vanoise National Park sits just two hours from Turin and forms a natural twin to Italy’s Gran Paradiso National Park across the border. Together, they protect a vast and pristine alpine ecosystem where glaciers, ibex, and wild meadows define the landscape.
This route explores the “cœur du parc” — the heart of the park, where nature still reigns in all its beauty. The terrain is high and open, developing mostly between 2200 and 2800 meters, surrounded by bright limestone peaks, wide valleys, and glacial views. Unlike other alpine regions, the Vanoise offers broad, sunlit spaces and smooth ridges — a landscape both powerful and peaceful at once.
