Nevado Juncal, towering at 20,163 feet in the Chilean Central Andes, is a stunning and challenging mountain located just 50 miles south of Aconcagua. This rarely visited peak offers a variety of climbing experiences, from moderate to technical routes. After an enjoyable journey with mules to carry our gear, we reach base camp at 8,910 feet, surrounded by dramatic alpine walls and breathtaking views of Juncal.
The climb ascends the heavily glaciated north face, making it a demanding expedition. Suitable for experienced climbers in excellent physical condition, this ascent requires proficiency with ice axes and crampons—a true adventure for those seeking a thrilling challenge in the Andes.
