Route details

Day 1
Hiking to the Juncal Glacier

After a two-hour drive from your hotel in Santiago, we will arrive at Juncal Andean Park and hike along a winding trail toward Central Chile’s largest ice body: The Juncal Glacier. We will follow a gently sloping trail along the eastern bank of the Juncal river, passing by an internationally recognized wetland that provides refuge to native wildlife, including Diademed plovers.

Afterwards we’ll cross the Monos de Agua river to make final section of the path. As we continue, the trail will become less defined and steeper, revealing the ancient glacier’s presence. After enjoying lunch in this magnificent setting, we’ll retrace our steps and return to the park entrance, where we will set up camp.

You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and rest comfortably in a deluxe tent, elevated 6 feet from the ground, complete with a spacious mattress, fresh blankets, sheets, and pillows as a truly glamping style.
